Dr. Robin Kerner is a licensed psychologist and Divorce Mediator in New York State. She earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and has been working with individuals and couples for over 25 years. Dr. Kerner has received advanced training in several areas, including Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Divorce Mediation. She also holds a Diploma in Personal Nutrition from the Shaw Academy.


Dr. Kerner has appeared in national and local media as an expert in psychology and relationships.

Magic is a standard poodle who works as a therapy dog in Dr. Kerner's office. She is a graduate of the Good Dog Foundation and is well-known to staff and patients at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center as a therapy dog volunteer. Magic also served as the hospital team's mascot in the annual National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI Walk) and was consistently the team's top fundraiser!


Research continues to support animal-assited therapy and the use of animals to reduce stress, anxiety and depression in a variety of professional settings.
